What is a Website?
A website is entertainment, education, enrichment, and enjoyment. It contains
art, music, museums, and culture. Further, a website is political, governmental,
and religious. And, it is trash, grunge, and filth. In short, a website is
anything its designers and writers want it to be. It's us, from all over the
world, on electronic pages.
The electronic pages that make up a website may be illuminated with color,
graphics, sound, and moving pictures. Each page can be connected to other pages
at various points on the page. These connections are called links and are a
different color than the other text and may also be underlined .
Viewing examples of websites may give you a better idea than reading about them.
The first example is the site for CIE 480: Technology and Multimedia. Other
sites are listed in the Internet Teaching Resources section for comparison.

We could go a bit further in our "what is a Website" question
by asking why anyone would want one, and how much do they cost? What is the
best way to design and promote a website when your just a poor ol' country
boy, or a lil' country gal with a great idea?
How can someone on a budget develop and promote traffic?
Actually, I prefer the term Website, instead of Web Site, although I prefer to use the term Web Page instead of Webpage. You will receive many more visits to your Website by being "listed" on the 1st page of The Major Search Engines than by personally handing out your Website Address.
